Flock History
Nettlebed Jacob
flock
was established in 1997 with 4 horned sheep. Unfortunately in 2001
this flock had to be culled as Foot and Mouth disease was confirmed
in an adjacent farm. Later that year new sheep were
purchased, this time two horned, and the current small flock of ten
breeding ewes evolved.
Stock ram, Webbery Heracles,
purchased from Bridget Wilson following a successful showing season
as a shearling, including Breed Champion at Devon County and
Bath & West Shows .
New additions to the flock are retained 2009 bred ram lamb, Nettlebed Kestrel - a son of Hyndshaw Poppy by Webbery Heracles. - a mating which has produced my best show sheep.
A recent purchase from Clive Richardson is Border Rambler a shearling son of Border Romany. Both very successful in the show ring - this year 2011 - Rambler was Breed champion male and Reserve overall Champion at the Royal Highland amongst his many successes.
